The only thing to do with good advice is to pass it on. It is never of any use to oneself.
Throughout life we have all received advice from a person that truly resonated and stuck with us. Life advice that we will most likely pass down to our friends, family and children. For me, the best advice I’ve ever received about life is “Don’t allow anyone to tell you who you are. Write and control your own story because you are the master of the pen.” This little nugget of wisdom has stayed with me throughout my entire adult life.
Below, I have shared more life advice with you that you’ll be able to carry with you in your daily lives. I decided to reach out to seven of my friends and asked them this simple question: “What is the most valuable and best advice you’ve received in life? How do you apply it to your daily lives?”
Keep reading to see what their most valuable life advice is. Also, make sure to comment down below any advice that you’ve received. I look forward to reading them 🙂
“Don’t let what others might say or think about you affect your life.”
This advice is valuable to me because I use to let what others say about me affect the moves I made in my life. But, not anymore because now i’m living my life carefree. There’s going to be people who will talk about you just because. Don’t let them get in the way of your goals.
“It’s your life. You know what’s best for you.”
This advice is so valuable to me because I use to let others opinions dictate my life instead of listening to myself. The only person who knows what you need in life besides God is you. It’s great to hear others opinions but YOU have to live your life at the end of the day. It’s your happiness that is on the line. So, live YOUR life to the fullest and make yourself happy.
“Don’t ever let them see you sweat”
This advice is valuable to me because when you show people that they can change your mood knowingly that may give them the idea that they have power over you. I use this advice often when I’m at work. I don’t want customers or my coworkers to think they running things my way lol. So I’ve definitely learned how to keep my composure at all times and not allow others to dictate my emotions. Stay calm, cool and collected.
”Be kind to yourself. Forgive yourself daily.”
You’re going to make mistakes because every human does! Forgive, learn from it and don’t beat yourself up about it. This life advice is valuable to me because it reminds me to take it easy on myself everyday. That I am not perfect at all and it’s okay. Once I’ve started forgiving myself it started becoming freeing for me and actually makes me feel better about myself.
“Don’t give people that much room in your mind.”
I’ve been using this advice since my college days. It’s valuable because it has allowed me to have so much peace in my life. I apply it to anything and anyone who has or tries to disturb my peace. In life peace and happiness is vital. When you don’t have peace your mind is unstable and incapable of performing at its max. Now, I simply refuse to allow anyone to control my mental and emotional health. They don’t deserve space in my mind.
“Troubles won’t last always.”
This saying definitely helps me to get through each day. It’s valuable to me because I know that if I continue to have faith, whatever the situation is will get better. Everything will work in my favor because I remember that everything in life has a season. Those bad days will not be around forever. Those words reminds me to keep striving for better days and that everything is going to be okay. I just have to remember there is a light at the end of every tunnel.
“He didn’t bring you this far to leave you.”
Whenever I feel like giving up this quote always comes into my mind. It motivates me to keep going. It’s valuable to me because it tells me to keep pushing myself because I made it this far for a reason. I use this advice in life whenever I am feeling down about something. I think about how far along I have come and keep pushing to the finish line. God’s got my back.
Love,
