Hey love! I want to start off by saying THANK YOU for sending in the first #AskMissy Question. I really do appreciate it.
To answer your questions about open relationships and situationships. For those who don’t know what an open relationship is: it’s when you have a significant other but you’re still able to see other people.
Well, I’ve never been in an open relationship because it’s just not for me. I don’t think that I could handle being in one. But, I don’t look down on others who are in open relationships as long as both partners agree. So, it is up to you if you want to have your cake and eat it too.
Situationships is also another way to say “friends with benefits.” The thing about situationships are you do everything that a couple would do but you just don’t have the “titles” boyfriend or girlfriend. Yes, I have been in a few. Situationships can be tricky. You may catch feelings for him/her but, that person may not want to pursue a relationship. They may want to have relations with you behind closed doors but in public they want to be seen as single. Not to say that situationships don’t turn into relationships because some do. But, make sure that you are cautious, careful and that you protect your feelings.
