Self esteem comes from being able to define the world in your own terms and refusing to abide by the judgement of others…

For this blog, I reached out to several of my friends and asked questions pertaining to beauty, confidence and self love. Keep reading to see what their responses where. 🙂
Question: How do you make yourself feel beautiful?
- Response: I try to do things that truly make me happy and try to pamper myself every now and then.
Question: What advice would you give to a young girl or adult who is struggling with self love? Self esteem and confidence?
- Response: I would say always put yourself first and never hold your problems in. Find someone that you trust to talk to about your struggles and always remember no matter what anyone says you’re beautiful!
Question: What does confidence mean to you? How would you define it?
- Response: Confidence is a mindset. You must believe and KNOW who you are in God. When you understand who you are, you’ll walk with your head held high. Believe in your abilities and you’ll do the unthinkable.
Question: What is one specific thing you do that helps you to like yourself and your life?
- Response: I speak a daily “I Am” over myself. Anything you put behind “I Am” comes looking for you. For example: I am blessed. I am wealthy. I am special. I am a great teacher! The more you say those things to yourself the more you’ll truly believe them.

Question: What helps you to feel comfortable in your own skin?
- Response: Looking at my body in the mirror and not letting others opinions factor into how I feel about myself.
Question: What advice would you give to a young girl or adult who is struggling with self love? Self esteem and confidence?
- Response: I will tell that person there can’t be another one of them. You must live in your truth and be who God has called you to be. God birth winners and that’s who you are! Turn off everyone’s outside opinions and don’t take everything people say to heart. Don’t let what they say dictate the way you’re going to live your life. If you fail, cool! Pick yourself up and start over. If you succeed, even better! Just don’t stop. It’s your life to live at the end of the day.
Question: Who is someone who has compromised your confidence? What did that person do or say to bring you down and cause you to doubt yourself? How did you overcome what was said or done?
- Response: My aunt definitely brought down my confidence and continues to bring down my confidence. She criticizes my life, clothes, my actions etc. It’s so frustrating and sometimes I cry about it. I also struggle with forming my own opinions of myself and I always doubt myself because of that. I still love her though. The way I overcome is trying to reassure myself that I am beautiful despite the criticism and judgement. I’m living my life doing what makes me happy.
Question: What does self love mean to you?
- Response: Self love to me is loving each and every part of me. 365 days of the year! Nothing anyone says or does can take it away from me!
Question: What advice would you give to a young girl or adult who is struggling with self love? Self esteem and confidence?
- Response: Ask yourself why do you get up in the morning and do what you have to do? Remind them that they are the most important thing to themselves. Can’t help others if you’re not in a good place with yourself. With self esteem and confidence I would let them know that it’s okay to not feel pretty some days but remember that you’re always beautiful. Self affirmation is really helpful, speak positively about yourself and it’ll actually make you feel better.
Question: What makes a girl or woman beautiful to you?
- Response: Her personality, the way she carries herself and cares for people. Not just looks if you get what I’m saying. Just a woman who is a good person.
Question: What advice would you give to a young girl or adult who is struggling with self love? Self esteem and confidence?
- Response: You are blessed, even though you don’t see it yet you ARE! Nobody on this earth is the same and that’s the great thing about it! That girl that you think is so pretty and gets all the attention is struggling with something else! Love who you are regardless of what anyone else says or thinks! They can’t change it and neither can you right? So you have to embrace YOU! Like only you can!

Question: How did you learn to love and embrace your body? What advice would you give to a young girl or adult who is struggling with self love? Self esteem and confidence?
- Response: Tell yourself you love yourself! Find something wonderful about yourself everyday. Find your worth and once you do that know what you deserve. Focus on your positives, accept your flaws and embrace them.
Question: What does imperfection mean to you? How can you learn to embrace imperfection in your life?
- Response: Imperfection to me means an “imperfect” person lol. A person who has flaws and faults. A person who is not perfect! Everyone has something that they feel is an imperfection in their life. Maybe it is something physical, a trait etc. I have learned to embrace these imperfections because they make me unique and there is no such thing as a perfect person.
Question: What advice would you give to a young girl or adult who is struggling with self love? Self esteem and confidence?
- Response: The best love is SELF love!! You were created the way you are for a purpose. God does not make any mistakes. Forget about what others think about you because the only person who opinion matters is YOURS!!
Love,
