First off, I would like to say I did NOT except 2020 to take a drastic turn like this. Since March I’ve been practicing social distancing, self quarantining and truly embracing my introvert side. No longer am I out and about bar hopping, hanging out with friends and shopping.
My life now consists of Netflix, business plans, more online shopping and sleep. Which I am thankful for the chance to slow down to stop and smell the flowers but I definitely didn’t except for things to slow down this much.
Life for everyone has been turned upside down which has forced us to learn some things about ourselves and life in general. I have learned so much during these times and I wanted to share a few of those lessons with you. Make sure to comment down below what the year 2020 has taught you so far! I look forward to reading them 🙂
Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready! Be prepared for any and everything. Life is so unpredictable and can throw curve balls your way when you least expect it. Make sure you are on top of things just in case of a disaster or emergency.
You do not have to take on someone else emotions or baggage. It’s okay to ignore others feelings when it hinders your personal growth. You have to make sure you ‘re good mentally and emotionally before trying to be strong for someone else. Protect your energy at all cost!
Childhood trauma is REAL! Most of use are still little kids trapped in an adult body because we refuse to heal ourselves properly. Healing your little person within is so important to grow as an adult. Get the help that you need to get past the pain of the past and break generational curses. It’s time to live a healthy, peaceful and happy life!
Live life as if the world is going to end tomorrow. Cherish every moment! Even the simple things because you never know when it will be taken away.
Not everyone is going to support you and that’s okay! Keep moving along and striving to complete the goals you are trying to achieve. No matter who’s in your corner. As long as you believe in yourself it doesn’t matter who doesn’t support you!
Don’t beat yourself up over people and situations you can’t control. Be patient and loving with yourself during hard times.
It’s okay to say NO! It’s okay not to go places you are not personally invited to. It’s okay to stay in the house and miss out on the party. It’s okay to take a day off from work for your mental health. No means NO!
How your day goes depends on you and how you start the day! In the mornings I love to start with a prayer, speaking words of affirmation to myself, and pulling from my Positivity Jar. Spending that alone time with myself before picking up my phone puts me in a great mood to take on the day.
